What started as a single restaurant has grown into a tradition shared by generations of families. For 60 years, Chuck-A-Rama has been a place to gather around the table to celebrate birthdays and milestones, to reconnect with family and friends, and to simply enjoy a good meal together.
Our story began in 1966, when founder Don Moss opened the first Chuck-A-Rama restaurant in the former O.P. Skaggs Building in downtown Salt Lake City. Don believed in hard work, good fun, and integrity in all things. Values that continue to guide us today. From that first restaurant to our now eleven locations across Utah and Idaho, we've remained committed to serving the communities we're proud to call home.
Through the years, a lot has changed, but what matters most hasn't. We still believe there's something special about gathering together. We still take pride in preparing made-from-scratch food every day, serving the familiar favorites our guests have come to love, and creating a place where everyone can find something that feels like home.
As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we're looking back at the people, food, and stories that made have made Chuck-A-Rama what it is today. We are thankful for the generations of guests and team members who have become part of our story and the privilege of becoming part of countless family traditions. We've watched children who once came through our doors with their parents return years later with children—and even grandchildren—of their own. We've been there for Sunday dinners, birthdays, team celebrations, first dates, family reunions, plenty of ordinary Tuesday nights, and all the memories along the way.
